RE: Midnight Movie At The Bagdad
forumers get the headsup first:
The Midnight Movies will now have commentaries included. They'll be made available the day before the screening (so people who download a day late can still play along) and will also be broadcast on pdx.fm at 11:05pm the night of the Midnight Movie - they won't be terribly scene specific so the differences in timing won't be noticeable much. The inaugural commentary will be missing The Captain - I believe he had some sort of Brew appearance he had to attend (I think) so I basically moderate a panel consisting of Erik Henriksen - Film Editor, Portland Mercury Mike Russell - The Oregonian, Culture Pulp.com Dawn Taylor - Cinematical.com, Ham-Fisted Radio Dave Walker - Badazzmofo.com, MSN.com All talking over the theatrical cut of Terminator 2: Judgment Day It looked like this when we were done: http://twitpic.com/1qtx93/full |

RE: Midnight Movie At The Bagdad
It'll be weird to see how many other people at the theater will be listening to their mp3 players.
You've assembled a Dream Team of portland film commentators right there. (BTW: I'm one of the few people using a Zune to listen to the podcast) "Fight for the cake, not for the crumbs" |

You didn't send them man you squirted mediocrity into the their waiting ears.
I've listened to a commentary track when Big Trouble in Little China was playing and it was an awesome experience. and then the clown said to the little boy, "You think you're scared, I have to walk out of these woods alone." |

My Zune actually doesn't have the ability to "squirt" I have new HD model that lacks that ability strangly. The Kurt Russel / John Carpenter commentaries are great because the two are obviously friends and had a good time making the movies. "Fight for the cake, not for the crumbs" |

I think the Zune is the official MP3 player of the Cort and Fatboy show. I remember you guys talking about the Zune a while back and a lot of people on the old forums said they had a Zune. It's actually the reason I bought mine. lol

RE: Midnight Movie At The Bagdad
So I wanted to bring up the fact that TNT is once again trying to steal the nerd shine of the midnight movie. They are showing Terminator 2 as I type this. By the way, I was the idiot that started that whole zune craze on the old forum. I was listening to the podcast in iraq via zune over the headsets in my stryker thanks to a cheap pair of headphones I spliced into the communications box. I believe we decided that the "squirt" sharing option was a stupid name and we came up with "speu" instead if I remember correctly. Oh, and........ Nerrrrrrrdz

Unfortunately I have to work tonight. Also, the dog is getting it's nuts chopped off, so he's going to need to be looked after.

I shall be attending. But my nine months pregnant wife wont be.
If you see a guy rushing out of the theater with a mix of panic and elation on his face that means I got the call that she just went into labor. "Fight for the cake, not for the crumbs" |

Hey all
I'd love to see the following as midnite movies: The Mist Shaun of the Dead Purple Rain Terry Gilliam's Brazil Fight Club Any early Jackie Chan adventure... Super Cop, Drunken Master Total Recall Team America: World Police That animated Transformers movie from the '80's apologies if I've already mentioned some movies they've already shown. |

I think the audience reaction for Goldblum was amazing. I can't recall any movie where a character got that many cheers. Nearly every line had people in a frenzy.

That first T-Rex attack was amazing to watch on the big screen. Had me thrilled even though I've seen this movie a lot, but never on the big screen.
